F.A.Q.
The kids travel together by bus from Mumbai to the camp site. The Fauji ki Paathshala team is there with the kids during the traveling. The approx. journey time is 3 hours from Mumbai to the campsites.
Yes. We will share the contact nos. of our section commanders (Instructors) once we reach the camp site and form teams. You can contact on those nos. at night between 9pm to 10 pm. every night. Also, we form a WhatsApp group of the parents of a particular camp a week prior to the camp and share all the relevant info on it. Also, we do share the pictures of kids doing the activities during the camps as and when we get time. So, you would be in touch throughout the camps.
(a) The camp sites are the private property and the owners and care takers are always present around. It has a wall/ barbed wire boundary and no trespassers enter randomly inside the premises.
(b) The kids are never left alone or unattended anytime during the day / night. The instructors are always accompanying them be it, going to the washrooms or filling up the water bottles or taking their medicines or for any work they need to do or go anywhere for activities. Personal attention is given to every child.
(c) We have sentry duties at night as well. our instructors are awake in shifts throughout the night to ensure no kid is staying awake or restless or sleep walking and also, if someone has to come out of the tent to use the bathrooms, instructors be there for them so that the kids are not scared to go alone.
The idea behind these camps is to develop self-confidence, discipline, learning to be independent and more such leadership qualities into the kids. Yes, feeling homesick being the first time especially during night time, is natural. The kids learn to be mentally strong and fight their fears when they see other kids of their age are trying to do the same in such new environment. Also, they are so engaged in various team building activities throughout the day, they make new friends and chitchat with them and don’t usually feel lonely. Since they get to talk to the parents before going to bed, they sleep happily during nights.
Yes, we have seen many such kids who are shy, reserve, talk less, don’t make friendship easily or be comfortable at new place easily. It’s seen a common trait in a child especially after the lockdown. In the camps, our primary focus is on team bonding. To become a good team player, one needs to be a good team player is what we keep telling the kids. The who are introverts, though initially are hesitant to participate or talk, they soon realise that they are looked after their other team mates and instructors carefully and he/she is given chances patiently to express his/her ideas and not left alone. We have also seen many such kids tend to be their team leaders on the third day willingly with confidence.
Of course! as mentioned earlier, no child will be left anywhere alone for any reason. Discipline being the primary learning, kids are taught in a military way to stand in a section, give reporting, and take some “ragda” if one team mate is done any mistake. Or help other teammates to be on time whenever required. So, kids ensure that right from day one and they understand that naughtiness will be appreciated during the free time only and I have to be with my team mates always.
We have minimum two dedicated instructors who have the list of the kids with their medicine details provided by their parents. They ensure that the kid takes it on time and also help the child to take it properly. Be it a syrup or an eye drop or any such thing that requires assistance.
We provide basic first aid. One of our instructors is a certified first aid trainer. Also, we have doctor on call at both the camp sites. So, in case of emergency, we ll ensure that the child is taken proper care of. And will certainly keep you in loop.
NO! the whole idea is to make the child independent and learn to take the decisions on his/her own in out of comfort zone situation. If they see parents around, they tent tend to be in their comfort zone and other kids, whose parents are not around miss their parents more and get distracted. So sorry, no parents are allowed to stay during the camps. Well, you are welcome to stay at the campsite which is also a family resort during the camps in which your child is not participating or any other suitable time.
Well, first of all, we don’t force any child to do the activities that they don’t wish to do. We understand their reasons, by talking with them, getting them into confidence, motivating them and cheering them for whatever little courage /efforts he/she shows. We make them understand the never give up attitude and joy of achieving something and after all this, if the child is comfortable to perform, we encourage them to do it or sometimes, we let the child be at ease.
